as shown at Rhode Island Fashion Week & Brown University's Spring Show
All pieces made from 100% non-virgin fabric - deadstock silk scarves from @echonewyork and deadstock denim from @fab_scrap. Special thanks to each & every one of the lovely people who donated a pair of their old jeans.
@lilyvanm in all over 'ECHO' print dress made with deadstock 40" silk scarves

made this piece for my internship with @echonewyork at the beginning of the year. working with silk was completely new to me & I wanted to use every last bit of the material. @nothingnothing2bymari and @subtractioncutting were heavily inspirational for this dress - using their non-traditional patternmaking techniques allowed me to make even the most awkward 'scraps' useful.
@eleanna_joy in hand dyed double denim two piece set w/ contrasting orange stitching

made completely from scrap denim given to me by my amazing friends, I decided to dye all of the most faded scraps to give them a new lease of life (see previous reel on this page). every line you see is the edge of one scrap being connected to another. statement buttons also found at @fab_scrap & styled w deadstock quilt scarf from @echonewyork that appears throughout the collection
@panyanhan in deconstructed jacket top with side lacing, eyelets & studs, & matching jeans

I made the jeans first & then wanted to make a completely ridiculous & impractical top to go with them - @viviennewestwood's 1981 pirate collection was definitely in the back of my mind when putting this look together. studs from @studsandspikes_com & special thanks to robin for bearing with me when lacing this look up!!
@jodi__tang in asymmetric denim corset w/ freehand machine embroidered scraps appliqué, jeans from @fab_scrap's 'mendables' section & silk quilt jacket made with deadstock scarves from @echonewyork

this was many firsts for me - the first corset I've made, the first time using boning, the first time hammering eyelets into a garment (though I have replaced eyelets on old canvas tents many a time). thank you to @risdcoworks for the eyelet kit & to jodi for being a trooper w/ this corset and trusting the process
@leeaniyah_ in top made from waistband of sample jeans found at @fab_scrap & skirt made from more of @echonewyork's deadstock 50" squares, inspired by @subtractioncutting & @nothingnothing2bymari

I really wanted to steal this skirt for myself! a super versatile piece I like styling over my collection zero jeans. sooo many eyelets on the top as well... thanks to aniyah for standing so still while I laced it up!
@lillfishpond in floral jacket made from black heavyweight cotton and a deadstock wool scarf from @echonewyork paired with asymmetric double slit denim skirt

interfacing the wool scarf worked (surprisingly) well and backing it with the heavyweight cotton fabric allowed me to make it look super sleek. the side pleating details on this were my favorite to do! for the skirt I was really struggling coming up with a design to match the top but the night before the show I came up with the sketch on the last slide & just ran w/ it. started sewing at 1am... finished sewing at 3am - but that's just how it goes sometimes
@_.ayxnna._ in cowl neck slip dress made with deadstock silk scarves
seeing how the pattern of this silk scarf flowed I knew I had to make a super simple, elegant dress with it. made with two 50" scarves cut on the bias and then sewn together, this was one of those designs that almost create themselves
@rar3_girl in silk shawl & harem pants made from two deadstock all over quilt print 50" scarves
another one of those designs that almost create themselves! I love coming to a fabric knowing exactly what it wants to be made into (and had to stop myself from taking these for my own wardrobe)
@mikosellier in signature wide leg jeans & tulle scrap top + floor length denim gradient vest
the top was made with all of the scraps left over from making this collection, sandwiched between two layers of tulle from @fab_scrap & secured with lines of vertical stitching. the vest/coat/cape combo is a favorite of mine
